Good Morning to Everyone!
Where to start? Roman? Julie? Joe? Cathy? Rick? Bill and Jean? Mike? So many of our list here was out with big smiles last night. The show (in my opinion) was outstanding. The trio set was much different than the first Power's show in Oct 2000. Several of the big songs like LOOK IN THE SKY, NEVER IS A LONG TIME and the DO LORD trilogy where dropped to make room for newer or different songs. OUR TOWERS and GOD BLESS AMERICA were two that had the audience spellbound. WHATEVER LIFE DEMANDS from the first album was performed for the first time in many years. As has become the case, Chris Queen (the newest member of Glass Harp for live performance) was brilliant. He adds so much color to what the guys do! I think it is incredible that he fits so well with a band that was broken up before he was even born! And a great guy as well! The horn section did a great job on NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD and on several others. (Maybe Mike will post the songlist - He is much better with details than I am!)

John dedicated EVERLASTING LIGHT to our Rob Whitehurst "who wasn't at the show..but he is here in spirit"! The Symphony set was similar to the 2000 show, but the level of comfort was even better this time. The Maestro Isaiah Jackson is able to read what the band is doing better this time around..What I mean is, a band like GLASS HARP jams (bet you didn't know that? hehehe), and with the symphony having specific parts at certain times, there is little room for the band to improvise. (Tough for them, because that is when some of the defining music that IS GLASS HARP happens.) But Isaiah was like a member in the jam, watching and conducting his symphony with an ease that was not present at the last big show. I can only imagine what would happen if there were more of these shows. There were lots of other special friends at the show as well. Phil's manager Norman Miller flew in from Nashville. Former GLASS HARP manager Chip Killinger was on hand, as well as Hank LaConte, owner of the famous Cleveland Agora where GLASS HARP played many hours of music. Anastasia Pantsios (Stacey) was on hand doing one of the things she does best, taking photographs..She is the outstanding photographer who did the shoots for the SYNERGY and IT MAKES ME GLAD albums. Anastasia has done work for a gazillion magazines, album covers and newspapers over the years.

Phil's mother in law and sister in law was there with their families. Phil' very cool brother Karl was on hand with his wife and family. So many smiles!!

The company doing the DVD for Phil was on hand doing interviews and footage for the upcoming release. (Ask Robin about release, as I know nothing of when it will be out! I know it is NOT done yet!) I had a chance to speak with former Michael Stanley Band bassist Michael Gizmondi, who was there with his family. (Giz replaced Daniel when he left to pursue auto racing in the late 70s) He was pumped to finally see the band he worshiped for many years! He is a big fan of GH. The show started at 8 PM, and with a very tight 20 minute break, continued until around 11 PM. The guys were ON!

Hopefully there will be some audio MP3s for the site in a few days.
Regards,
Neal

PS..other highlights of the day for me personally..2 small TV sets
