Over the years Phil has released several songbooks and instructional videos which are described here. Three of these are long out of print but can be found from time to time. The others can still be ordered from the Phil Keaggy Club by calling 1-800-66GUITAR.

These songbooks are better than the usual fare though only the Acoustic Solos book is technically accurate in all respects. It does a fine job of making you realize just how poor a guitarist you really are compared to Phil!

This is a nice book which lets you put together your own version of these songs. I learned most of my early Keaggy songs from this book and it is lovingly worn as you can see from the photo above. It is getting really hard to find this book.

* For the longest time I had no idea where these songs came from. Some have appeared much later on Phil's Back Room Trax tapes, but most come from the following albums:

Look around for these albums as they are worth the effort. You've heard nothing until you've heard Nedra Ross's version of Full Circle!

This book contains actual transcriptions of how Phil plays these songs as acoustic solos in concert. Everything is here, just as he plays it! This is a great books and surprisingly, some of these pieces are quite playable with a little fudging. Highly recommended! Call the club (phone number above) and get it!

Like the songbook above, this one includes tab. It is technically harder, IMO, than the Acoustic Solos songbook and a JamMan is almost required on many songs. Good luck!

Acoustic Guitar Style Video

In this follow up to the Electric Guitar Style Video, he shares some of the secrets of his masterful and innovative acoustic guitar style in this one hour personal guitar lesson. Such techniques as alternate tunings, fingerpicking, flatpicking, sweep-picking, tapping, harmonics and string chord voicings. The songs here are from The Master and the Musician, The Wind and the Wheat and Beyond Nature and there is a booklet with tab to some of these songs included with the video.
