Dear Phan Phile,
Earlier this spring Phil had a concert in Lititz,PA
at the Lancaster Evangelical Church. ( I forget the
date). The concert was sold out and I did not have a
ticket. I wanted to take my two year old daughter,
Nikki, to see him. I played a lot of his albums for
her and she liked his music. So I told her we will
try to go, but we don't have any tickets. So we
hopped in the van and drove the 40 miles to the
concert.
When I got to the front door
they told me the concert was sold out. I asked if
there was someone to talk to about getting a ticket.
They pointed me in the direction of the advanced
ticket sales desk. Of course they didn't have any.
But they asked the guy who booked the concert if he
had any tickets left. And he did! As far as I know it
was the last ticket. What happened was I got a ticket
of someone who was on the stage crew who I believe
got sick. Any way he wasn't at the concert for some
reason. I paid $10 for the ticket and my daughter
didn't need a ticket as long as she sat on my lap.
And we ended up in the front row!
We sat patiently for
the concert to begin. Phil came out to a thunderous
ovation. He recieved a standing ovation before he
played! Any way after the ovation died down, my
little daughter said "It's Phil Keaggy."
Well, Phil heard her say that from the stage as he
plugged in his guitar and adjusted his gadgets. He
looked over at her and said like a daddy talking to a
two year old in a falceto voice "Hi how are you
doing?" And of course my daughter smiled real
big. He opened the concert with A Sign Came Through
the Window and my daughter began dancing and she
pretty much danced through his whole first set. She
liked the first song he played, when he made his
guitar make funky sounds, and the click clock ahhh
sound he did during Every I Look.
Me? I just enjoyed the whole
concert, except for intermission!
Sincerely,
Keith Andrew Grim

Note: While my family and I were attending a PK
concert, we had 2 extra tickets and went looking for
people like this. I hope the 2 we found got as much
out of that concert as Keith and his daughter!
