Hey all,

Dave did a bang-up job on his review of the concert. The evening was a guitarist's delight, First with Dave Beegle and then with Phil. In a word - fantastic, outrageous, amazing, awesome, wonderful...you get the idea. This is PK concert # 5 for me and, without a doubt, *the* most memorable. Muchos gracias to da Wolves for taking me. In the words of PK, "What a nice guy you are, Dave".

As Dave said, I have the set list Phor Phil. As usual, I forgot to bring something to write on, so it's on the back of directions to Dave's house! This isn't 100% accurate. There was A WHOLE LOT of jamming going on in between songs. Phil brought his FLY and ZION guitars with his VOX AC30 and Fender Twin Reverb amps. Allrightythen, here we go:

Tell Me How You Feel
John the Revelator

[This is where Phil breaks his string. I didn't even notice! He just kept on playing without missing a beat. When JtR was over, someone behind me shouted "That's pretty incredible for only 5 strings" to which Phil responded "well, I've been playing for over 30 years with only nine fingers. You have to learn to adapt." Great roars of laughter erupt from the audience.]

Salvation Army Band - Wow!!!
Inseparable
Sign Came Through A Window
Let Everything Else Go
Chase the Bad Away
?
Days Like You
?
World of Mine - with an alternate introduction and a bit of the gospel thrown in for good measure. Dave, do you remember what he said?
[an instrumental I can never remember the name of...Dave?]
What A Day - the band returns from a well-deserved break and Phil shouts out the chord progression so they can play along (G-A-D-C in case anyone is interested!)

[Speaking of songs that pick me up, this one always does. I had a tremendous headache {because of our awesome seats, had I passed out, I would've knocked over a monitor or two - God is good} and was starting to get a bit grouchy. This song always puts things in perspective for me. I started to cheer up and enjoy myself again.]

[At this point, the band has begun to exhaust it's song base....]

Doin' Nothin' - Wow!!!
Madeline - Oh man, next time I bring a tape recorder!!!
?
Not So Long Ago - AKA intro to ST. See "Neal's Notes" #5 The only reason I remember this one is lately I've been trying to improve the sound quality on the NN files. Anyone have any of these in mp3?
Strong Tower
River of Life

[at this point, Dave Beegle joins Phil onstage and they jam...]

Sounds

Well, that's the concert as I saw it. It was the first time I'd seen Phil with a band and I loved every minute of it! One thing I did learn, though. A cell phone set to "vibrate" when a call comes in feels just like a good bass note! Oh well, I only missed two calls. I ended up walking in the door at around 1:45 or so. Yes Dave, Gary was still up watching soccer 8=).

There, how was that? Anything to add er "phil" in, Dave?
